DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under direction of the Infectious Diseases Illinois Electronic Diseases Surveillance System (I-NEDSS) Administrator, serves as the Statewide Coordinator of Statistical Methodologies for the Division of Infectious Diseases.  Provides guidance to and manages the development and implementation of the I-NEDSS system, which is utilized to report disease data to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).  Supervises subordinate staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires possession of a Bachelor's degree in public health, registered nursing, microbiology, sociology, anthropology, veterinary medicine, biology, psychology, chemistry, epidemiology or a related field plus three years of professional experience in communicable disease or infectious disease surveillance and/or control programs at the local, state or federal level. Requires experience in working with an electronic disease surveillance system, and skills in utilizing Business Objects software for advance statistical analysis and report generation.  Prefers experience in utilizing Crystal Reports software for report generation and analyzing laboratory data to confirm disease diagnoses.

Anticipated Starting Salary - $6,258/month
Current Bargaining unit employees - CBA language applies
Full Bargaining Unit range - $6,258/month - $10,049/month

ASPPH Internship Program for Summer 2020

ASPPH is now accepting applications for the ASPPH Internship Program for Summer 2020. This internship program is based at ASPPH headquarters in Washington, DC and will provide a unique experience where the selected students can apply their skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to projects of importance to ASPPH and ASPPH-members.

Internships will be 10-12 weeks in length over the summer of 2020. Candidates for the internship positions will be contacted in April to interview for specific projects related to public health education and outreach, data analysis, and information technology.

Looking for a 20 hour/week Research Project Manager

We’re looking for a 20 hour/week Research Project Manager (RPM). This would be a contractual position and we're looking for someone who is Chicago-based. The RPM would oversee a project on understanding how coercive control related to mental health plays out in the lives of domestic violence survivors and would also assist with NCDVTMH’s other research activities by providing day-to-day oversight of research projects, qualitative and quantitative data management, and regulatory/IRB support. Research and Evaluation Graduate Level Internship

The American Institute for Research is hosting four graduate student interns in its Chicago office this summer. Based on student interests, existing skills, and project needs, each intern will be assigned to contribute to the development and execution of three to four program evaluations, policy studies, or research projects over the course of at least ten weeks. Mosquito Control Technician (Seasonal), Greater Los Angeles County VCD

Description: Under general direction of the Operations Supervisor and direct supervision of the Vector Control Specialist, the Mosquito Control Technician (MCT) performs inspections and control operations relative to mosquito vector problems in an assigned area.  The MCT exercises safe and proper judgment in the execution of daily vector control assignments.  The MCT position does not possess a state certification. An incumbent must be able to perform assignments under the direct supervision of certified District personnel, including either a Vector Control Specialist or Operations Supervisor.  This classification works relatively independently and is accountable for vehicle safety, the safe use of chemical application equipment, recording work-related data, and presenting a good public image of the District. Other duties as assigned.
This assignment will be located at either the Santa Fe Springs or Sylmar branch office.  The duration of work is seasonal/temporary, usually beginning with the onset of mosquito season and will last for approximately six months. This assignment is considered “at-will,” does not serve a probation period and will not gain permanency. This position does not qualify to receive District health benefits, vacation time or holiday pay.

Job Opening: MPH Director (faculty) at Vanderbilt

The Department of Health Policy at Vanderbilt University's School of Medicine is seeking an innovative, experienced individual committed to excellence in teaching and learning to serve as the Director of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program.
Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Health Policy and the Senior Associate Dean for Health Sciences Education, the MPH director will assume overall leadership of the program. The director will manage and coordinate the activities that support student recruitment, admission, retention, career development, and alumni engagement, as well as oversee selection of faculty for teaching and mentoring and engage diverse primary and secondary faculty.
Qualified candidates must possess:
·       Education:
o   Doctorate in public health or related field or MD or equivalent clinical degree with public health training
