Internship Opportunities with Wisconsin Environmental Public Health Tracking Program

The Wisconsin Environmental Public Health Tracking Program is excited to announce two openings for a graduate-level intern! We are specifically seeking applicants with some previous SAS or R coding experience. 

We are looking for two independent, self-starting problem solvers to help us prepare and stage data for our online data portal. We also expect a few smaller data projects to come up during the course of the internship. This is a great opportunity for students to flex their statistical software muscles with real-world data.

 

A few more details:

• Timing. We are looking for interns to start in mid- to late-November 2020 and continue into the spring or summer of 2021. We can be flexible on the start and end dates.
• Part-time or Full-time. We would like two part-time or full-time interns (work time ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week). Working hours during the day are flexible.
• Payment. This is a paid internship, at $14-18/hour based on experience.
• Capstone. We welcome students who would want to use this experience as part of their capstone project or program requirements.
• WI Address. State law requires that a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position must have a Wisconsin address for the duration of the appointment.
• Remote Work. Due to the current pandemic, work would be performed remotely.

The Research Assistant will support a broad portfolio of research and health equity programs, including community-engaged research initiatives, student education programs, community and campus events, and more. Responsibilities include performing biomedical &/or social-behavioral research by administering tests &/or questionnaires following protocols; collecting, compiling, tabulating &/or processing responses; gathering information; &/or assisting in the preparation of material for inclusion in reports.  Completes all activities by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) & all relevant current local, state, & federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy & procedure developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB), Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), & the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH).

NACCHO's Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health team is recruiting for a Program Analyst in Washington DC

Program Analysts are responsible for providing professional support for programmatic and internal activities, including implementing, coordinating, and promoting project activities; identifying and responding to member and team needs; assessing policies and programs; and providing senior level administrative support, as needed. Program Analysts have a foundational understanding of public health principles and practices and familiarity in their designated area of work.

Program Analysts typically report to a Senior Program Analyst or Director. Program Analysts can complete projects or components of large-scale projects/programs with moderate supervision. A Program Analyst has frequent contact with outside organizations, NACCHO members, or other NACCHO staff regarding project coordination, implementation, and promotion. 

Program Specific Information

The Program Analyst will support projects and activities within the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health program portfolio, including cooperative agreements with CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, CDC’s Division of Reproductive Health, and other funders. The ideal candidate will possess interest and experience in at least one programmatic area related to maternal and child health, as well as experience working in a local health department or at the community level.
