About the Quinn Center of St. Eulalia

The Quinn Center of St. Eulalia (Quinn Center) is a ministry of Sacred Heart and St. Eulalia Catholic Church (Maywood/Melrose Park, IL) that was founded in 2010 to address social justice concerns and outreach to a diverse Proviso community. Named after Monsignor William Quinn, a former pastor of St. Eulalia, the Center continues his legacy of community engagement, empowerment and growth. The mission of the Quinn Center is to partner with the people of Proviso to build an inclusive culture of justice, health and peace through intentional action.

The Quinn Center offers the following youth and adult programming year-round and includes: an after-school enrichment program serving dinner and snack, two days per week; a weekly community soup kitchen, one day per week; an art relaxation therapy classes for adults, especially caregivers, one day per week; open gym (basketball, volleyball, soccer), one day per week; and a Mexican folkloric dance class, one day per week.  The expectation is to expand and diversify program offerings over the course of the 2019-20 program year, which may include additional classes, such as yoga, Peruvian dance, Zumba, youth arts and crafts, performing arts, ESL, GED and computer programming. All Quinn Center programs have a goal of encouraging the community to participate in affirming, social and health-related activities.

Position: Program Coordinator

Time Commitment: Tuesday – Thursday from 4-8pm (mandatory), weekly
·         Additional preparation time, as needed/required, up to 3 hours per week
·         Total of approximately 12-15 hours per week

Essential Roles and Responsibilities
  • ·         PHYSICALLY PRESENT in the building, overseeing programming for ALL DAYS of programming, ensuring all safety and compliances guidelines are being met, and participants are satisfied with the program
  • ·         Responsible for all activities related to planning, coordinating, promoting and implementing all activities related to youth and adult programs, which includes administrative responsibilities and updating website and social media
  • ·         Recruit participants, instructors and volunteers for all program offerings
  • ·         Confirm all necessary registration/compliance paperwork is complete and accurate for all participants, volunteers and class instructors
  • ·         Coordinate the space utilization and planning for all program offerings
  • ·         Ensure that programming takes place in a safe, fun, and positive environment, and may include actively participating in the program/activity/special event
  • ·         Additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Required skills
  • ·         Computer literacy, especially Office Suite, Google Suite and social media platforms
  • ·         Ability to maintain accurate records and keep confidentiality
  • ·         Comfortable working with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds
  • ·         Highly organized, good listening skills, punctual, creative
  • ·         Detail-oriented and flexible 
  • ·       Exhibits workplace professionalism, including verbal communication and attire
  • Associates degree or higher preferred
  • ·         Fluent in Spanish (including writing, reading and speaking)

Research Specialist – CCTS Biostatistics Core


The Research Specialist in the Center for Clinical and Translational Science's Biostatistical Core contributes to the study design of clinical and translational research projects and collaborates with researchers to develop, analyze and interpret research projects. The Research Specialist consults with research and clinical faculty on statistical analysis, method design, power analysis, data collection, data management, and preparation of publications and grant proposals. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to the conceptualization, design, development and delivery of clinical and translational research projects, addressing all areas of clinical and translational science for CCTS.
  • Serves as collaborator and primary biostatistical consultant with research and clinical faculty (primarily in the health science colleges) on research study design, data analysis, power analysis, statistical method design,  design study forms and databases, conduct analyses, test hypotheses, and summarize results for presentations, manuscripts, and grant proposals. Recommend alternative approaches for identifying elements from data and consulting on approaches for data retrieval, aggregation, analysis and interpretation
  • Prepare material and assist in writing of clinical research findings for manuscript and grant submission.  Design tabular and graphical presentations depicting results of analyses and hypothesis testing. Inform and explain research results to investigators, review draft manuscripts, and verify correctness of results and statistical sections of manuscripts and grant proposals prior to submission for publication or funding.
  • Replicate, refine and add new research approaches based on project needs. Test, customize and implement new methods and procedures.
  • Advise CCTS Center and Core leadership on new directions for research based on study results.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required. Master’s degree in biostatistics or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years related research experience required.  Experience with data management and analysis of clinical trials recommended.
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
  • Experience with utilization of analysis packages and software, such as R and SAS strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with REDCap and other data management systems.
