The Quinn Center of St. Eulalia (Quinn Center) is a ministry of Sacred Heart and St. Eulalia Catholic Church (Maywood/Melrose Park, IL) that was founded in 2010 to address social justice concerns and outreach to a diverse Proviso community. Named after Monsignor William Quinn, a former pastor of St. Eulalia, the Center continues his legacy of community engagement, empowerment and growth. The mission of the Quinn Center is to partner with the people of Proviso to build an inclusive culture of justice, health and peace through intentional action.
The Quinn Center offers the following youth and adult programming year-round and includes: an after-school enrichment program serving dinner and snack, two days per week; a weekly community soup kitchen, one day per week; an art relaxation therapy classes for adults, especially caregivers, one day per week; open gym (basketball, volleyball, soccer), one day per week; and a Mexican folkloric dance class, one day per week. The expectation is to expand and diversify program offerings over the course of the 2019-20 program year, which may include additional classes, such as yoga, Peruvian dance, Zumba, youth arts and crafts, performing arts, ESL, GED and computer programming. All Quinn Center programs have a goal of encouraging the community to participate in affirming, social and health-related activities.
