The Office of Student Health and Wellness aims to eliminate health-related barriers to learning and to advance child health equity in Chicago.
The Senior Epidemiologist will provide critical support in ensuring health and wellness initiatives are data driven and effective. They are responsible for analyzing data that helps in driving decisions for the department, tracking health data for impact on school communities and building indicators for the District. This position will be responsible for supporting surveillance and contact tracing related to COVID-19 and other infectious and chronic conditions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports for health related priorities.
Monitor and assess disease risk in CPS populations.
Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Provide administrative support Office of Student Health and Wellness including but not limited to developing and submitting ad hoc reports, creating data presentations and other general analytic support.
Review and collaborate with research partners to ensure alignment to OSHW goals.
Support the creation of evaluation capacity within the department.
Aid in creation of background documents, fact sheets, and other communication materials related to Healthy CPS.
Other duties as assigned.
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Senior Epidemiologist should possess the following qualifications:
