JOB SUMMARY
The University of Chicago Medicine’s
(UCM) Urban Health Initiative (UHI) is committed to meeting the health needs of
Chicago’s South Side communities. It assesses community health needs,
manages strategies (e.g., programs, partnerships) to respond to these needs and
measures impacts on the community.
As part of UChicago Medicine’s new Level
1 adult trauma care center, the Violence Recovery Program (VRP) is working to
build a violence recovery ecosystem for victims of intentional violence and
their families. The UHI oversees the VRP and the Assistant Project Manager
serves as in-house project consultant to the administrative and clinical
leadership of the program. The Assistant Project Manager facilitates and
coordinates analytical support to operational and clinical resource analysis
and benchmarking initiatives and advises on issues related to process
improvement and cost management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist with
Project Management: With supervision by the Director of Community Benefit
and Evaluation, develops project plans and draft documents for the
evaluation of the Violence Recovery Program. Responsible for all phases of
evaluation plan, coordinating activities, identifying appropriate
resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of
project.
- Data
Management. Coordinates the flow of data, obtains information from
electronic and paper sources to complete reports, and organizes data in a
manner that is accessible and usable. Writes programs and scripts for data
transformation and analysis. May assist in training staff.
- Analysis and
Reporting. Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis. Produces
standard and ad hoc reporting/data queries: provides accurate, concise
reports to appropriate areas.
- Quality
Assurance. Ensures that data collection and storage meet regulatory
requirements, audits information gathering processes. Formulates systems
of checks and balances to increase reliability of data. Recommends and
takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. Develops
tools to improve and standardize processes as applicable. Supports
multidisciplinary work groups in consensus building.
- Perform
other duties departmental duties as identified and assigned by senior
management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s
degree required. Master’s Degree in Social Science or Public Policy
preferred.
- Knowledge of
standard statistical techniques
- Knowledge of
qualitative data analysis tools and techniques
- Self-motivated,
ability to work independently
- Ability to
coordinate numerous projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated
organizational skills and knowledge of statistical software (SAS, R,
Stata)
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite or comparable products
- Experience
in complex data tracking and measurement
- Professional
experience in the healthcare field and/or formal training
