The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, has an opportunity to manage and implement global child and adolescent health projects, including providing technical assistance and support.

Some duties will include:
1. Work with AAP global health programs staff and project technical advisors to develop content curriculum for trainings, workshops, and other project deliverables, including conducting literature reviews, editing and drafting technical content, and developing survey and evaluation tools.
2. Synthesize project learnings and successes and draft dissemination materials to share AAP activities with global audiences (eg case studies, curricula, briefers).
3. Support development of new grant and funding proposals, including writing content. Maintain database of key contacts and technical partnerships. Track, monitor, and follow-up on key partnership requests.
4. Implement and oversee new technologies to advance the AAP approach to technical assistance globally (eg telementoring).
5. Research, write, and develop content for AAP global web site, social media accounts, and for other project-specific web pages as requested.
6. Manage the contract development, review, and execution process for all projects on the team. Track all subcontracts to ensure key deliverables, reports, and payments are met.
7. Act as primary liaison for various global coalitions, listservs, and memberships. Represent global health team on global partner teleconferences, provide updates to global health team and track follow-up action items.
8. Respond to key partner and member inquiries related to global health team projects. Escalate matters to other staff as needed.
9. Track the review and comment process for global technical documents (eg WHO global strategy documents), including providing initial review and draft recommendations for global health team.
10. Assist with the evaluation of new opportunities to align global health project implementation with the AAP global strategic plan.
11. Liaise with team section staff to ensure integration of key global health activities with section priorities. Provide support to sections’ activities as requested, including program implementation, section member communications, and educational program preparation and development.

Qualified candidates will possess:
1. Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, health policy, health education, or related discipline required or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
2. Two to three years’ related public health project coordination/management and implementation experience required, including editing/drafting communications and web/social media content; drafting project reports and presentation; and collaborating with external partners. Experience working on global health initiatives or non-profit association; and program promotion preferred.
3. Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication, and diplomacy skills required. Strong technical acumen with proficiency in MS Office required; experience with MS Publisher, Adobe Suite, Web management software (eg, SharePoint, Umbraco) preferred. Fluency in a foreign language preferred. Some travel, evening, and weekend work may be required.
