TITLE:  Manager, Obesity Prevention Initiatives
 REPORTS TO:  Director, Obesity Prevention Initiatives
 SUMMARY:  The Illinois Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (ICAAP) is seeking a Manager to provide primary support for all aspects of its grant-funded childhood obesity prevention initiatives addressing clinical and community integration, quality improvement, and continuing medical education. The Manager is responsible for meeting grant objectives; developing and managing continuing medical  education (CME) and quality improvement (QI) activities; identifying continued funding sources to sustain projects and writing grants; assisting with project evaluation; maintaining a database of physical activity and nutrition programs and other resources; and supporting project marketing and communications. Additionally, the Manager conducts recruitment and outreach activities to physicians, medical clinics, and partner organizations, staffs project and ICAAP committees, provides technical assistance to physicians, and writes reports, articles, and other project-related materials. Some local travel is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s degree in public health, or in other health-related field, is preferred and three or more years of work experience is required. The position also requires strong written communication skills and previous project and/or grants management experience with a medical or public health organization. Experience working in a community health clinic and professional writing experience is desired. Specific knowledge of care coordination and related software, quality improvement, childhood obesity, or other child health issues, is a plus. Applicants must have the ability to multi-task on several projects, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity or willingness to learn WordPress and learning management software.

Compensation: $40,000 to $45,000
