The Department of
Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois is seeking a full-time
Visiting Research Specialist position.
This position will
collaborate with the PI and researchers to execute and maintain a
federally-funded research project on patients with uncontrolled hypertension in
the emergency department (ED). The randomized clinical trial will assess
the effect of a patient empowerment tool and a Post-Acute Care Hypertension
Transition Clinic on blood pressure control for a high-risk ED population.
The Research Specialist will oversee the
day-to-day elements of the project. He/she will implement and maintain a
program tracking system for participant recruitment and data collection, and
manage undergraduate student research assistants. The position will be
responsible for monitoring project development on an ongoing basis and propose
and implement changes as needed. Additionally, the position will maintain
IRB documentation and budgetary elements of the project.
