Requirements
Applicant must be able to locate to Washington, D.C. for the duration of the internship session. Interns work in the SOPHE National office, located at 10 G St, NE, Suite 605, Washington, D.C., 20002. The national office does not offer community or patient interactions.
Requested academics and skillsets include:
- The applicant is currently enrolled or a recent graduate of an educational institution, college, university or continuing education program
- Completed two or more years of coursework with a 3.0 GPA or above
- Display an interest in a career related to health, health promotion and education, health policy, health communications
- Possess strong verbal, written, communication and analytical skills
- Exhibit strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
Application Process
Your application must include all of the following in order to be considered:
- SOPHE Internship Application
- Cover letter
- Resume
- Writing sample (academic or professional work)
- Written statement if availability differs from SOPHE’s session length or working hours are below full-time (email will suffice)
The application and all requested materials must be submitted together and emailed to HR@sophe.org. Failure to meet any of the above-mentioned requirements may delay, or even prevent, the review of your application. Please keep a photocopy of your completed application for your files. Given the volume of incoming applications, we will not be able to return any of the materials we receive.
Academic Credit
- Academic credit for the internship is at the discretion of your college or university
- SOPHE will provide appropriate information to your school
- Make arrangements for earning credit before you begin the internship
