Global Epidemiology Researcher

The Center for Disease Analysis (CDA) is a private research organization that specializes in the study of complex and poorly understood diseases. We combine epidemiologic research, advanced modeling, and decision science to develop comprehensive studies of disease burden, size and flow of populations, and the impact of future decisions. We are the leading source of epidemiology data for hepatitis C. Our work is global in nature and we have collaborated with over 50 countries so far. Our goal is to study and publish data to educate stakeholders in different countries.

The position will entail the following activities:

Conduct literature searches to identify available data in each country.
Determine the quality of studies based on methodology, sample size and sample selection.
Interview international experts to validate data and collect missing data.
Populate and calibrate disease progression models for individual countries in Excel.
Develop presentations that summarize key findings.
Communicate results with leading experts via email, presentations, and conference proceedings.
Write manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Limited domestic and international travel.

This position does not involve designing or conducting observational or interventional studies.

We are looking for a candidate with the following characteristics and background:

MPH or PhD specializing in epidemiology with 2+ years of experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication skills.
Undergraduate degree in science – biology, chemistry, math, or physics.
Experience in literature search – reading and summarizing scientific articles.
Ability to write clearly, maintain accurate records and summarize results.
Expertise in the use of statistical software (SAS, STATA, or R).

This is a full time position in our Louisville, Colorado (fifteen minutes outside of Boulder, CO) office. It offers company paid benefits including health, dental, and prescription coverage as well as 401K retirement. The candidate must be a US citizen or already have permission to work in the US.

Compensation: Determined based on experience – base salary plus annual bonus.
