SUMMARY
The Senior Medical of HIV Services
will lead the Cook County Health & Hospitals System (CCHHS) towards
ameliorating the regional epidemic of HIV/AIDS and related sexually transmitted
and blood-borne infections by ensuring consistent application across CCHHS
facilities of: state-of-the-art primary and subspecialty medical care for
patients infected with HIV by fully implementing recommended HIV screening and
testing practices; and by integrating these services with comprehensive
intervention and outreach, sexual and mental health and case management
services. This position is responsible for ensuring coordination of
these efforts with those of local, regional, state and federal health
departments; with non-CCHHS HIV medical care providers; and with
community-based organizations (CBOs) providing relevant services.
